CJF Filling Out His Staff; Adds QB and DB Coaches

This from the Kansas City Star's "Campus Corner" Blog:
"Kansas State tight ends coach Ricky Rahne has resigned and will become the quarterbacks coach at Vanderbilt, K-State coach Bill Snyder announced Wednesday. Rahne, who has spent the past five years on the K-State staff, will join former Wildcats offensive coordinator James Franklin's staff at Vandy. Franklin and Rahne spent the 2006 and 2007 seasons together at Kansas State."

We also get this report from FootballScoop.com saying that Miami (FL) defensive backs coach Wesley McGiff has accepted a position on James Franklin's staff at Vandy. To be clear, the announcement does not say what position McGiff will coach, but assuming he stays a position coach, there might be reason to think the Commodores could land Randy Shannon to be the team's defensive coordinator.

He's young and was an outstanding QB at Cornell. This can only be a huge improvement over our previous QB coaching situation.

Not that it matters what he looks like...but here is his photo anyway:

I really hope Vandy throws some money at Randy Shannon. He is a great recruiter and directed a great D at Miami when he was the DC.

A big QB commit just left the U recently after Shannon's departure, which speaks volumes about Shannon's ability in recruiting.

GO VANDY! GET SHANNON AS DC!
