STOP: There is no Quarterback Controversy; Larry Smith should be Vanderbilt's Starting QB

I don't care that Jared Funk led the Commodores down the field for their only touchdown in the second half. He is not as good as Larry Smith. I know Vanderbilt fans have been frustrated with Smith's play at times, but he is not the reason this team isn't winning games. From what I saw, he's the guy playing the hardest and trying to make the most happen on the field. Does he hold the ball too long? Sometimes. Does he miss throws he should make? No question. But he is unquestionably Vanderbilt's best option under center. Disagree? Tell me why.

That was my biggest takeaway from today's game. My previous Larry criticisms now seem unfounded. Today's game showed he is undeniably the biggest asset we have.

Larry looked better today than he has looked in a while. I got nervous every time Funk came into the game.

Larry looked good today. I have said all along that the position coaching has been awful at both qb and wr. Only Vandy coaches would make a kid as good as Jordan Mathews wait until garbage time to display his skills. Even so, he has 2 td catches in the last 2 games.....go figure...
