News From Camp: Rodgers Falling Behind in QB Race

Jeff Lockridge's piece in today's Tennessean discusses the state of the Vanderbilt QB race, with a focus on Jordan Rodgers. Rodgers has missed a lot of practice due to back spasms and soreness in his right shoulder and himself admits he's falling behind in the 3-man race for the QB1 spot. The prospect of Rodgers being red-shirted is raised in the piece which, truth be told, the coaches would probably prefer.

Former Commodore hurler Mike Minor will make his first career start at Turner Field tonight as the Braves face-off with the Washington Nationals (Mrs. O'Shea's adopted team). As Dave O'Brien writes in his Braves blog for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Chapel Hill, Tennessee native is expecting a lot of friends and family to come and watch him play in the bigs for the first time. Mike earned a no decision in his first start last week against the Astros in Houston.

Tales from Bobby's vacation: If you haven't seen Inception yet, you should it's awesome. Also, if you are looking for a great baseball summer read, Dirk Hayhurst's The Bullpen Gospels is fantastic.
