Am I missing something here? Seems like an awfully easy non-conference schedule.

Playing Davidson (at least once), potentially West Virginia, Missouri, Western Kentucky, St. Mary's, and potentially someone else, (depending on how they do in Puerto Rico), I'm not sure I'd say it's "awfully easy," even if there isn't any one opponent that stands out.

Some of the teams aren't as bad as they might look on paper (Appy won 24, SMC 28). The potential WVU matchup is the only game vs. a team with a Top 30 RPI last year, but SMC, Marquette, and Mizzou were all Top 50.

I will say I'm more interested in the Southern Indiana exhibition (they were 24-3 in D-2) than a couple of the regular season opponents. (Presbyterian? Grambling?) Even if Vandy beats 20-loss teams like that by 50, it doesn't prove anything. It's a shame a mid-level C-USA team or one of the smaller in-state schools weren't available instead.

what do you think the admin's reason why we don't have more big NAME games on our non-conference schedule? Call me crazy, but in the dog days of the pre-season, I care more about the name than last season's w/l record of some mid-major. It would be nice to have 4 or 5 names like GA Tech/Wake/Oregon/WVU, right?
