Please don't seed Vandy as a #4 again.

tried to outsize them, but we were outrun...would've been better to go with 3 guards

Obviously it just happened so I might think differently as time passes but this loss is way worse than the siena loss. First off this season is a pretty big disappointment with all the talent this team had. A senior pg a jr center and a bevy of offensive options. The team that lost to siena was shan foster and a bunch of role players. Secondly we were coming off a sweetsixteen appearance so we were just happy to make the dance 2 years in a row. Finally though this part can def be argued either way I would say a gut punch loss is way worse than the way we lost to siena when we didn't even make a show of it. Vandy has to be careful we are quickly going to gain a rep as a team that chokes under pressure.

Not suprised, but definately mad.
Same ole Vandy.
No one to blame but ourselves. You can't miss 3 of 4 three throws at the end of the game. And why was Festus even in the game?

Again, not suprised. Kind of expected it because this team looked like they did at the end of 08 the last 3 games of this season.

Long plane ride back to Nashville for the guys. Long enough to "vow" not to let this happen again next year.... ha.

As a SEC fan an especially a UK fan, I must say that you guys SUCKED today.

what happened to andre walker..remember when he was a great role player for us doing all of the little things. the last 6 games he has SUCKED! He has taken too many shots, been out of position all over the court, turnovers..how about those fouls when their 6'5" guard was posting Ogilivy and he came from behind and hacked him twice. Taylor started the season great but then became the kind of guy that seems moore concerned about his stats then the team. Jenkins is a great shooter, but what else can he do. When he drives I know all of us think.."uhoh, we'll be lucky to get points out of this" and his defense is atrocious, so slow laterally. As far as I can tell we are going to have some major problems going into next season. Can't say enough negative things about our performance today. Not once did I feel like we were the better team.

This loss is very disappointing because this was our year to make a run. Our offense has been slow and horrible for the past month with Beal running the show, so I cannot imagine what it will look like next year with Kyle Fuller (a freshman) or Tinsley, or perhaps Jenkins, playing out of position at the point.
In addition, I think now that we can look back on the season, it is clear Vanderbilt benefited from SEC basketball being weaker than most people anticipated. I don’t think they beat a quick team committed to rebounding all year. As a fan, I feel foolish for letting myself believe in this team after the Cincinnati game demonstrated that this year’s Commodores simply could not guard an athletic team.

I am sick; crawl under the blankets, never talk about basketball again, bracket blowing in the breeze SICK. I have been so into Vandy athetics for 40 years and my soul is absolutely sucked dry. Luckily I will be out of the county for the second half of the tourney. I don't care. I hate basketball. We will never ever be seeded 4 again. EVER. ARGH. At least I didn't see it. I was trying to listen on a old transistor radio with fading reception. My husband and son aren't talking to me- I told them Vandy to elite 8; at least. What the hell happened? ARGH. OMG, what if UT wins. ARGGGH. I bet that flight home won't be fun. Maybe by next year I will care again. How is Vandy spring practice going; I hear the SEC East is wide open.

Murray State played nowhere close to their best game and they still beat us. Pretty pathetic showing, we were lazy on defense, lazy on the boards (like all year) and we missed so many free throws, something we've been good at all season.

This loss is way worse than Siena, almost as bad as Gtown in 07.

Someone other than Jenkins needs to develop a jumper for next season and we have to hope we can somehow replace Beal. Everything else is there for this team to be a good team next year.

at least the georgetown game was at night, so it was appropriate to get hammered before, during, and after the game.

sober losing in the middle of a workday really sucks.

CMB9698, "as a UK fan", no one fucking cares what you have to say.

If I had a nickel for every time I was big enough douche to go to other teams' blog and post comments I'd be worth jack sh*t.

Watching this game all I could think about was that Jermaine Beal is NOT Derrick Byars and today we needed a Derrick Byars. I thought Jermaine was atrocious and wasn't even close on his three towards the end of the game. Yes he hit his free throws, but what else did he do in the second half. Turned the ball over and showed that he's not a true point guard. Here's hoping that we either a) find a true point guard (maybe Kyle Fuller is the second coming of John Wall) or b) find another Derrick Byars/Matt Freije (maybe Rod Odom?). Either way, I can't watch sports anymore
