Vanderbilt Self-Reports Recruiting Violation in Getting Rodgers

So reports Jeff Lockridge in the Tennessean. According to the story: "The NCAA recruiting calendar reads that the 'quiet period' for the recruitment of junior college players begins on Dec. 13. The 'dead period,' when coaches cannot have contact with those players, begins on Dec. 14." The story goes on to say that Rodgers confirmed today that his official visit to Vanderbilt ran from Dec. 13 to the morning of Dec. 15. This violation is not expected to affect his eligibilty and will probably be viewed with some leniency given the infrequency with which Vanderbilt recruits JUCOs.
