The Future is Bright: 3 Vanderbilt Freshmen Named to the Freshman All-American Team

Louisville Slugger's Freshmen All-American Baseball Team was announced this afternoon.

Vanderbilt 2B Riley Renyolds, DH Aarron Westlake, and P Sonny Gray (as a reliever) made the squad.

The Nashville City Paper runs down their lines:

Westlake was the Southeastern Conference’s leading hitter during the regular season and finished with a .377 average. He earned SEC All-Freshman honors.

Gray had a team-high five saves, a 5-1 record with a 4.30 ERA. He struck out 72 in 58.2 innings.

Reynolds also earned SEC All-Freshman honors as he hit .332 with 15 doubles. Additionally, he had a team-high 14 sacrifice bunts.
