But there's a lot to like about last weekend's road victory at Auburn. For one, AJ returned to double digits, scoring 14. For another, Dolla Beal exploded from behind the arc, nailing 7-8 on his way to 21 points. Tinsley had a good game too hitting 3 of 6 from 3-land. Jeffery Taylor fell one board short of another double-double, picking up 14 pts and 9 boards.
We also limited our turnovers, only giving up 14. And for the first time in a while, we shot lights out, hitting 57% from the floor.
Our defense still leaves much to be desired. After being imposing early in the season, SEC play has shown how green we are on the defensive side of the ball. Allowing 75 points to Auburn is not pretty and particularly letting one player drum up 29.
Regardless of the fact that it was Auburn and the relatively high points allowed, this is a huge win for the Commodores. Picking up this one on the road snaps a four game losing streak heading into a home match-ups with Alabama and Mississippi, both of whom are experiencing some coaching woes. Don't look now, but if the offense keeps up, we might be carrying a bit of a win streak into our road game against Tennessee.
Could we be on the verge of a midseason streak?
