Vandy's First McDonald's All-American?????

Rivals Recruiting Guru Jerry Meyer answered a question about Vandy Recruit John Jenkins in his latest mailbag. The attention can only be a positive for Jenkins and the Vanderbilt program.

Five stars?
Does John Jenkins end up as a five-star prospect or a McDonalds All-American?

Any highly ranked four-star prospect who is averaging 45 points per game and shooting 58 percent from the field and 49 percent from 3-point range deserves strong consideration for five-star status.

We have felt for some time that Jenkins is the premier shooter in the 2009 class, so it is not shocking that he is putting up huge scoring numbers for a high school team that needs him to score as many points as possible. Even more encouraging are reports that he has developed further physically and progressed athletically.

The question about Jenkins as a high-level shooting guard is whether or not he had enough athleticism and dribble game. Rivals.com will soon be watching Jenkins again, and if we see a five-star prospect then that is what he will be.

-Here's hoping the next local stud we sign is Casey Prather. He could be a top 20 player in the 2010 class.

Finals are over but now I am at work which means I'm bored so lets get some chatter about anything (except the Jets who I want to kill!!!!)
