Shan Has Huge Night for the Mavs

Continuing our trend of articles written by people who have "no real knowledge", Shan Foster had a big game last night for the Mavericks rookie league team in Las Vegas, scoring 17 points on 8 of 13 Field Goals. He shot 1 of 3 from behind the arc as he put up a strong rebuttal that his game is not "one-dimensional". Foster also contributed 3 boards.

Fellow SEC Player of the Year Derrick Byars is also back in the grind for a spot on an NBA roster, playing with the New Orleans Hornets team in Vegas. He's averaging 7 points and 2 rebounds a game coming off the bench.

Matt Freije is also working hard to garner a spot on the Milwaukee Bucks summer league team, he's averaging 10 points and 2 rebounds a game.

Weird thing is that Byars is also listed on the Orlando Magic's summer league team for the Orlando session. Obviously if he impresses with NO and they offer him a contract he would take that. Maybe he has a previous agreement to be able to play for both teams

Orlando doesn't have a team at the Vegas session, so Byars is probably doubling his opportunities by playing for both. I don't think it's uncommon for guys to play for two summer league teams in different sessions. I imagine if both teams offered he'd be able to pick one or the other. (A very unlikely scenario).

This is easily the worst sports day of the year...so i decided to look up DB's stats in the Orlando summer league. In 5 games he average'd 8.4 points. But his two best games were the first (15) and last (11).

Agreed, this is by far the worst sports day of the year. There is absolutely nothing to offer. No baseball, no football, no basketball, nothing. Unless you just get jacked about the British Open, there's nothing great about it.

According to rivals Casey Prather has Vandy as his #1. Yes I am talking about 2010 basketball recruits.

Former UConn WR Terrence Jeffers has finally officially transfered to Vandy. Jeffers was a two-star recruit out of Georgia in 2006. He played well for UConn as both a true freshman and an sophmore. He obviously has to sit out this year but will have the 09 and 10 seasons to contribute to the Commies.
