Speaking of Basketball...

I WANT this guy suiting up in black and gold in 2008.

Steve Tchiengang is the only four-star recruit I'm aware of who's currently on the Commodores' radar. At 6'9", 215 lb. Tchiengang is rated as the #16 power forward in the country by Scout.com and #23 in his position by Rivals.com. Scout has him at #50 in their Top 100 and Rivals has him at #76 in their Top 150.

Tchiengang has received offers from Vandy, Notre Dame, Indiana, Louisville, Texas A&M, and Baylor. His top three schools at the moment are Vandy, Notre Dame, and Baylor.

After losing the interest of Memphis shooting guard--and five-star recruit--Elliot Williams, we should be focusing hard on Tchiengang. His teammate Gary Clark was looking at Vandy but already gave a verbal commitment to Wake. We say it all the time: winning begets winning. The same applies to recruiting: big-time players follow other big-time players to schools where they think they can be successful.

I think it's about time we picked up a Top-30 recruiting class. The 2007 class of recruits is fairly well-rounded, but (even with "Crocodile Ogilvy" as Douglas James dubbed him) it's certainly not off-the-charts talented. With the recent success we've had I don't see any reason why we can't pull in some four-star players and start competing with the big hitters for the big names.

I saw a little about this guy. This should be Kevin Stallings number one priority as far as recruiting is concerned.

Think about this future line-up (with this current senior class graduating). And this is just with putting the big boys on the court.

1. Beal
2. Drake
3. Brown
4. Tchiengang
5. Ogilvy

Its "Crocodile Og" otherwise there are too many syllables. Or we can called him "THE Original Gangster", "the gangster from downunder" or one of several other names. Basically i'm bored.

Crocodile OG is his official nickname from here on out.

When the first edition of the VSL Dictionary is published, it will be featured prominently

I'm really hoping that the US plays Australia at some point because the US team has one of the top center recruits in the country (this kid DeAndre Jordan is the #2 center recruit on rivals.com) Seeing what the Croc does against him would really give us a better idea of what we are looking at.

Update on Nike: Nike has decided to suspend the release of the new Michael Vick shoe according to a report that was just read over Triple-X ESPN Radio in Washington, DC

no surprised by that. Over the watercooler yesterday reports were coming in that Nike released him, guess that wasn't 100%, but what watercooler reporting is.
