Commies open strong at Open (Live blogging day 1)

Update (6:20): The wheels appeared to be coming off the wagon for List as we went +6 on 11-14. He doubled 13, playing as the 3rd easiest hole on the course, and bogeyed 14. Luke showed some fight and birdied 15 to get back to to 6 over.

Brandt ends the round +1 with a 71 and tied for 10th. Brandt bogeyed 3 of his last 4 holes.

Update (5:38): Disater stikes on 12 as Luke gets his second double of the day. He is now 4 back and tied for 66th.

Update (5:33): Brandt gave another stroke back and is now even. Worse, he finishes today's round on the 3rd and 4th toughest holes of the day. He is tied for 6th. Luke List, on the other hand is +2 after 12 and tied for 32nd. He will play the toughest hole on the course (18), but still have a shot to get some of those storkes back. Coming down the stretch, List with play the day's 2nd (17), 3rd (13), and 5th (14) easiest holes.

Update (5:12): Brandt and Luke both lost a stroke. Through 15, Brandt is tied for 3rd at -1; after 11, Luke is +2 and currently in 30th place.

Update (4:40): Brandt has worked his way atop the leaderboard with back-to-back pars on 12 and 13 (holes 3 and 4) to go -2. Luke, after a double, has settled down and is making the turn, tied for 14th at one over.

Update (4:05): List doubled 7, putting him back over par at 1-over

Update: List just birdied 6, he is now -1.

Vanderbilt Grad Brandt Snedeker is Even after 10 holes. He started on the back 9 in ths first round of the Open.

Luke List, who is making his professional debut, is even after 4 holes (front 9).
