Bracketology Update...

Vanderbilt moves up to 6 in Bracketology.
A win at UT, according to Joey L. makes us a lock.

Well, that task just got a little bit tougher. Lofton is back for the Vols.

UT tried to blow the game last night against a struggling LSU team. You can't tell me that Lofton is 100% having sat out as long as we has.

Note that in the current Bracketology, the SEC has 7 teams with Georgia and Arkansas both getting in. I'm not so sure that's going to happen. The general consensus is that, because no one has been able to figure it out, the SEC will be labeled as "down this year" come tournament time. Neither Georgia nor Arkansas have particularly difficult stretches to finish the season, but both will be fighting against that mentality if and when they get on the bubble.

As for us, I think anything less than a 10-6 conference record is a disappointment. I want 11-5 with an SEC tournament bye, and I want to steal Kentucky's 4-seed. It starts in Knoxville on Saturday. Shut down Lofton and you win - plain and simple.

I think the key is the UT, UK and Florida games. Win one of them and we should still go 10-6. If we won all three (which I think is possible), we could even go 12-4 and get an SECT bye and maybe as high as a 4 seed. These are easily our toughest games, and while they don't make or break the season, they will make a big difference in our final record. I think we'll win two of three and go 11-5.

I think the problem flying under the radar a little is two games v. South Carolina. It always feels that we come out flat against teams we are better than. I'm pretty worried about the Gamecocks trip to Nashville, call it a pessimistic hunch. These are the games that have kept us at or below .500 in the SEC the past few years.
